This game has been developed in under a week for GoedWare limited shapes game jam. The theme was "limited space" and the shapes allowed were circles and pentagons. Note: Some additional shapes are being introduced in post-jam updates. See below.

Gameplay:

Survive this hardcore bullet hell where your defeated enemies pile up and limit the available space for you to maneuver and tackle additional waves of enemies. Travel to 3 different worlds with their own theme, physics, enemies and quirks.

Controls:

AimingUse your mouse pointer, IJKL, or the right gamepad stick
MovementWASD, arrow keys, or the left gamepad stick
ShootingLeft mouse button, space, or any gamepad shoulder button

Credits:

  • Original soundtrack by Gianluca de Muner.
  • Original shape assets courtesy of GoedWare, recolored and tweaked using GIMP. Only text and variations of the four circle and pentagon sprites (filled and outline) are used when rendering (including VFX and GUI) the game.
  • Some sound effects generated with https://sfxr.me/.
  • The font is Source Sans 3.
  • Includes heavily modified open source code snippets from here, here and here.
  • Free leaderboard addon and backend services by SilentWolf: https://silentwolf.com/
  • During the development of this game there was a little feature I was missing from Godot that would allow me to easily create gradients so I made an addon for it. I just submitted it to the asset store. It's my first addon so not sure what's going to happen but if anyone is interested, it's available here: https://github.com/josepvalls/FancyGradient
  • No AI was used in the development of this game.

Post-jam updates:

  • 2025/9/21: Main menu redesign and new track, added in-game gamepad support, better beat synchronization.

hi o/

I played it a little. Just some thoughts/feelings upon playing:
- The menu music was wildly loud and the the music control UI did nothing
- I didn't care for the projectile ricochet and just directly shot at enemies
- I didn't even know there were other "worlds"

Thanks for your feedback! We'll work on it in the next update. Stay tuned, pls!

Hey! This game is awesome. I like difficult games so this was of my taste. The music goes pretty well along the gameplay, and overall it's like a classic arcade/retro game. Well done.
