Game Summary
Aztec inspired, snake-like game with strategic territory control elements.
Gameplay overview
A snake-like game with elements of territory control. The player will compete against AI controlled opponents so that there is no need for multiplayer. Players will compete for the highest score on a leaderboard.
Theme
Aztec legends:
Primary Mechanics
- The player controls a mythological creature with a long “tail” that is dragged behind its “head”. The creature moves at a consistent pace that changes based on in-game events.
- The player must avoid colliding against obstacles and its own “tail”.
Secondary Mechanics
- The player can capture territory and landmarks by enclosing them with their “tail” and previously owned territory.
- The player must capture specific landmarks to unlock different areas.
- The player must compete with opponents to capture territory.
- The player must avoid getting its “tail” hit by opponents.
Scoring
- The game runs for a certain number of periods (initially 20)
- Each period last a specific number of seconds (~20)
- After each period, the player collects a number of points proportional to:
- 1 point for each tile in its territory
- 100 points for each temple in its territory
- Claiming additional temples awards extra periods (1)
- Dying to opponents or hazards reduces the number of periods (5)
- When all the periods have elapsed the player score is recorded in the leaderboard.
